Terms of Use

Last updated 17 October 2026

In short

Dearlio lets a creator make a page for a person, a moment or a group, and lets guests add wishes, tributes, candles and photos. You keep ownership of what you post. Only post what you have the right to share, and be kind to the people the page is about.

1. The service

Dearlio provides birthday, milestone, memorial and community pages. Creators sign in with an email and password to manage their pages. Guests can contribute without an account. Available contribution types depend on the page type.

By creating a page or submitting a contribution, you agree to these terms. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.

The current version does not charge to create a page or to contribute. If a paid offer is introduced, its price and terms will be shown before you pay.

2. Accounts

Creators must give a working email address and keep their password private. You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access to it. Password resets use one-time, expiring codes sent to your email.

You must be at least 18 and able to enter into an agreement under your local law to create an account. Guests under 18 must have a parent or guardian’s permission and meet any minimum age required by local law. If you act for an organisation or another person, you must have authority to do so.

3. Your content

You keep ownership of the text and photos you post. You give Dearlio a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce and display that content only as needed to operate the service and make it available according to the page settings. This includes processing by our service providers and the creator controls described below. It does not give us ownership of your content. The licence ends when the content is permanently removed, except for copies retained as described in the Privacy Policy or as required by law.

Only post content you own or have permission to share, including photos of other people. Do not post private information about someone without their permission. Respect the wishes of the person a page is about and, for memorials, their family. Public access to someone else’s content does not give you permission to reuse it.

4. Acceptable use

Do not use Dearlio to post unlawful, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, misleading or violent content, to impersonate someone, to send spam, to upload malicious files, to collect other people’s personal information without permission, to bypass access controls, or to interfere with the service or other people’s pages. Automated or abusive submissions may be limited or blocked.

5. Creator controls and moderation

Creators choose whether a page is unlisted or private with a PIN, and whether new contributions need approval before they appear. Creators can edit, hide, restore or delete contributions on their pages. An unlisted page is not protected by a PIN, so anyone who has the link can open it.

Dearlio may remove content or restrict pages that break these terms or the law, and may act on reports from page subjects, families or authorities. We may suspend access where reasonably necessary to address abuse, security risks or legal requirements. We do not review every contribution before publication.

6. Removal

Creators can delete a page from their dashboard. This removes the page records and starts removal of its uploaded files. Individual contributions deleted by a creator remain restorable until the page is deleted. Deleting a page does not delete the creator account. To ask for a contribution about you to be removed from a page you do not manage, contact the page creator or us using the details below. For privacy, copyright or other complaints, include the page link, the content involved and the reason for your request. We may ask for information to verify your authority to request removal. You can also contact us about account deletion.

7. Availability and liability

We work to keep Dearlio available and your content safe, but we cannot promise the service will be uninterrupted or error free. We may change or discontinue features and cannot guarantee permanent hosting. Keep your own copies of photos and messages that matter to you. To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided as available without additional warranties, and we are not responsible for indirect losses or losses caused by events outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

8. Changes

We may update these terms as the service changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. Where required by law, we will give notice of material changes and obtain any necessary agreement. You may stop using the service if you do not accept the updated terms.

9. Local rights and disputes

These terms apply subject to applicable law. Nothing in them takes away mandatory consumer or privacy rights in the country where you live, or your right to bring a claim before a court available to you under applicable law. If a provision cannot be enforced, the remaining provisions continue to apply. Contact us about a dispute so we can try to resolve it; doing so does not prevent you from using other remedies.
